I am having my 1974 front and rear bumpers modified by Ben @mb911 for a front oil color and to remove the bumperette holes, and looking for a chrome shop recommendation with estimated cost located between Ben in Wisconsin and the San Francisco Bay Area.

A quick forum search revealed:Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I contacted Ogden for my front bumper...they wanted $3K to chrome it...I passed. Please keep us in the loop about what you find out. I know others here are looking for chrome work too. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Im in the same boat.

There is a place in Van Nuys called Van Nuys Plating... they've been around for decades. I will get an estimate when I get the bumper from Bruce.

Here is another..

Aero Chrome Plating

I have seen Ogden's work, and it is impeccable! When you want show quality perfection, this is your place. But perfection comes at a price. Otherwise, the stainless bumpers from Auto Atlanta look very nice for $3k

Because of the EPA crap in California a lot of them have gone underground. I found one in So Cal that the low riders use. Nice work and it cost me $600 no bodywork though. He wanted $900 to fix a couple of dents. I doubt they ship. I had to drive down an undisclosed shady industrial area, call and wait for them to show up. Make some calls to the local low rider body shops and ask.

Have you tried Sherm's Custom Plating in Sacramento? I understand they do good work but can't give you first hand info.

If you speak with them and learn anything, let us know?
